Chris Carlone of Slidell, Louisiana, United States, was elected to serve a two-year term as an international director of Lions International at the association’s 106th International Convention in Melbourne, Australia, June 21 through June 25, 2024. retail industry.
For the past 17 years, Director Carlone has served as the executive director and CEO of the Louisiana Lions Eye Foun- dation. Prior to his employment with the Lions Foundation, Director Carlone spent most of his professional career in the
Mardi Gras bead retail industry.
Director Carlone began serving with Lions International in 2004 and is currently a member of the Metairie Airline Lions Club. He has served the association in various positions of leadership including district governor, council chairperson, multiple district convention chairperson, multiple district Global Extension Team and several others.
In recognition of his service to the association, Director Carlone has received numerous awards, including multiple Lion of the Year Awards, the Jim Caruso Fellowship Award, multiple Club Extension Key Awards, the GAT Chairperson’s Medal, multiple International President’s Certificates of Appreciation and International President’s Medals, among many others. He is also a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow and progressive Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation Knight of
Sight.
In addition to his local Lion activities, Director Carlone has served as a DGE group leader and on the USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum Planning Committee. He is also LCIP certified.
Director Carlone is proud to follow in his father’s footsteps as a second-generation international director. He shares his life of service with his wife, Kathy, also a Lion and a Melvin Jones Fellow, as well as a Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation Knight of Sight. They have one son who is a proud minister.
